Professional study support

Study ACCA topics with us. Sit the exam with ACCA.

Nine Mai Studies programmes covering the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills subject areas, written by our own tutors, with marked assignments and mock questions. The ACCA qualification itself is awarded by ACCA, and you sit their exams at an ACCA exam centre or by remote invigilation.

The pathway, stage by stage

Each stage shows what the papers ask of you, what you must be able to do, and the Mai Studies course that gets you there with its fee.

  1. Stage 1 · Applied Knowledge

Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting

What this stage asks of you

The first three papers test whether you understand how a business works, how costs behave and how a set of financial statements is put together from double entry.

What you must be able to do

    • Explain business structures, governance, ethics and the role of technology in finance
    • Cost a product or service and prepare budgets and simple variances
    • Record transactions through to a trial balance and basic financial statements

    How Mai Studies helps

Three Mai Studies study-support courses, each with written notes, a tutor-voice class, a practical task, a marked assignment and mock questions. Included with membership.

  2. Stage 2 · Applied Skills, law and performance

Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management

What this stage asks of you

You move from describing to applying: the legal framework a business operates in, and management information used to steer performance.

What you must be able to do

    • Apply the essential legal rules around contracts, employment, companies and insolvency
    • Build and interpret costing, budgeting and variance information for decisions
    • Write clear, reasoned answers under exam timing

    How Mai Studies helps

Study support written by our tutors, with worked applications and marked assignments. Included with membership, or buy the paper on its own.

  3. Stage 3 · Applied Skills, reporting and tax

    Taxation, Financial Reporting

What this stage asks of you

Technical accuracy matters here: computing tax for individuals and companies, and preparing and interpreting financial statements under reporting standards.

What you must be able to do

    • Work through tax computations methodically and present them clearly
    • Apply reporting standards to transactions and prepare group accounts
    • Analyse a set of accounts and explain what the numbers mean

    How Mai Studies helps

Paper-by-paper study support with practice questions, a marked assignment and feedback on your written technique.

  4. Stage 4 · Applied Skills, audit and finance

    Audit and Assurance, Financial Management

What this stage asks of you

The last two Applied Skills papers ask you to plan and evidence an audit, and to make investment, financing and working-capital decisions.

What you must be able to do

    • Plan an audit, design procedures and judge the evidence you gather
    • Appraise investments and choose sensible financing and working-capital policies
    • Justify a professional judgement in writing

    How Mai Studies helps

Study support for both papers, with scenario work and marked assignments so your judgement is tested, not just your recall.

Where you sit the exam, and who charges. ACCA exams are booked with ACCA and sat at an ACCA exam centre or by remote invigilation. You register as an ACCA student and pay ACCA's registration, subscription and exam fees directly to them. Those fees are separate from anything you pay Mai Studies.

Read this before you enrol. Mai Studies is an independent provider. We are not ACCA, we are not an ACCA Approved Learning Partner, and these programmes carry no ACCA credit, exemption or registration. Every note and question is written in-house; we do not reproduce ACCA syllabus text or exam material. Our completion record is a Mai Studies record of study, not an ACCA qualification.
