Apply to become an AAT training provider
If you want to deliver the real qualification rather than study support, you apply to AAT directly. This page walks you through AAT's own three-step process, the documents to have ready before you start, and where AAT publishes its fees. Every form, decision and fee belongs to AAT.
The application, step by step
Step 1
Send AAT your initial information
AAT asks you to email their training provider team with the full name of your organisation, the full postal address including postcode, a landline telephone number, your website address, which must be a live and fully functioning site, and any other awarding bodies you are already accredited with.

Step 2
Speak to an AAT account manager
An account manager talks through what you want to deliver, the levels and delivery model you have in mind, your student numbers and your timescales. Treat this as the point where you agree scope: approval is given for what you can genuinely support, not for everything in the catalogue.
Have your delivery plan, staffing and intended start date ready.
Step 3
Complete the application and approval review
You then complete AAT's application with your supporting documents and pay the fees AAT sets. AAT reviews your organisation, your staff, your assessment arrangements and your quality assurance, and may ask for extra evidence or set conditions before approval.
Approval is followed by ongoing monitoring, so keep everything current.
Documents to prepare first
Applications stall on missing paperwork. Have these written, signed and dated before you send your initial information, and keep them in one folder you can share quickly.
Organisation and legal
- Certificate of incorporation or equivalent registration
- Registered and delivery addresses, and a landline number
- A live, fully functioning website
- Most recent accounts or evidence of financial standing
- Public liability and professional indemnity insurance
Policies
- Safeguarding and prevent
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Data protection and retention (UK GDPR)
- Complaints, appeals and whistleblowing
- Malpractice and maladministration
- Reasonable adjustments and special considerations
People and teaching
- Tutor CVs and qualification certificates for the levels you will deliver
- A named quality assurance lead and a named assessment contact
- Staff development and standardisation plan
- Schemes of work and a sample lesson or session plan
Premises, systems and assessment
- Room or remote delivery arrangements, and IT specification
- Assessment venue plan, or your arrangement for learners to be assessed elsewhere
- Identity checking and invigilation procedure
- Secure storage of candidate records
- Learner registration, tracking and results process
The fees you will meet
AAT publishes one fee schedule each year, applicable from 1 September, covering provider, student and qualification fees. We do not reproduce the amounts here because they change annually and only AAT's own document is authoritative. Budget for these categories:
